PAWSibilities Animal Rescue Litter for Good Recipient
In 1998, a 12-year-old girl was on a mission to rescue every stray cat that wandered onto her mother’s property in Shippack, Pennsylvania. As time went on, her mother’s barn started overflowing with so many stray and lost cats that they could no longer appropriately house them all. Not about to give up on her mission to rescue these helpless cats, she founded PAWSibilities Animal Rescue, a non-profit, no-kill shelter dedicated to serving animals in need.
Today, PAWSibilities has grown to include two locations with six employees and 30 volunteers. PAWSibilities welcomes all domestic animals that have been abused, abandoned, neglected, or simply unloved. They foster all types of animals including cats, dogs, rabbits, horses, chickens, pigs and more.
Many resources and materials can be expensive and hard to come by, which is why the Cat’s Pride’s Litter for Good program has been essential to helping PAWSibilities with their litter supply. Donated litter from the program has helped PAWSibilities save funds in order to be able to take in more animals, provide more medical care and have a larger capacity to house their animals. PAWSibilities currently houses more than 200 cats and through the Litter for Good program, they have received over 13,000 pounds of litter.
PAWSibilities provides a loving and safe environment for all animals they take in from near and far to help find their forever homes. “A 17-year-old cat was recently adopted and it was such a happy day for everyone at the shelter. We know the cat is able to spend the last years of his life in a happy home,” said Kathy Mina, Senior Management at PAWSibilities.
With the help of the Cat’s Pride Litter for Good program and their gracious volunteers, PAWSibilities is able to save hundreds of animals each year. “Many volunteers have been with the rescue for over 10 years. One volunteer comes in every week and cleans the entire cat room,” said Mina.
