A Safe Haven for Cats in Need

Pet Haven Litter for Good Recipient

Founded in 1952, Pet Haven is the first foster-based animal shelter rescue organization in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Over the years as the organization has grown and flourished, they have built a team of dedicated individuals who are committed to improving the lives of pets by rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming dogs and cats. Pet Haven is unique in that every cat that comes into their care lives with a foster family until they find their forever homes.

Approximately 3.2 million cats enter shelters every year and this year many shelters have felt an even bigger impact due to COVID-19. As a result, Pet Haven’s cat intake nearly doubled from last year, with more than 500 lives saved so far. Many cats are still in the Pet Haven Foster Home Program, and as we know, more cats mean the need for more litter.

To ensure all their feline guests have everything they need to feel comfortable and at home, Pet Haven reached out to Cat’s Pride for help. Many resources and materials can be expensive and hard to come by, which is why Cat’s Pride Litter for Good program has been essential in assisting Pet Haven with their litter supply. Donated litter from the program has helped Pet Haven save money needed to provide extra care for the cats including food, lodging and medical supplies.

Currently, the Litter for Good program has helped Pet Haven receive more than 24,000 pounds of litter, which is roughly enough for a whole year. You can view the donation delivery to Pet Haven on their YouTube page here.

“Cat’s Pride has been strategic in saving more lives! If we would have had to purchase litter we could not have saved as many as we have,” said Kerry D’Amato, Executive Director of Pet Haven. “The generosity of Cat’s Pride is so incredibly appreciated. I truly cannot thank them enough.”

Fearlessly Saving Cats in Need

Fearless Kitty Rescue: Litter for Good Recipient

In 2012, two women were spending much of their free time volunteering for different animal rescue shelters in the Fountain Hills, Arizona area. In August of that year, they met while volunteering to care for kittens at a Petco, and after getting to know each other well, both women decided it was time to pool their knowledge and talents together to create a no-kill cat organization. Without any time to waste, their free-roaming adoption center, Fearless Kitty Rescue, was opened in September 2012.

Today, Fearless Kitty Rescue is a highly regarded non-profit, no-kill rescue committed to finding homes for homeless and abandoned cats of all ages. The organization has grown to include five employees and 140 volunteers. Right now, their 5,200 sq. ft. facility houses between 65-86 cats at one time and about 22 cats are adopted each month. When their cats and kittens are not at “Kittyville” in their facility, they work with foster families to provide them a loving home for a period of time.

Many resources and materials can be expensive and hard to come by, which is why the Cat’s Pride Litter for Good program has been essential to helping Fearless Kitty Rescue with their litter supply. Donated litter from the program has helped Fearless Kitty Rescue save money needed to provide extra care for the cats including food, lodging, medical supplies, and vet technicians.

Currently, the Litter for Good program has helped them receive over 26,000 pounds of litter.

“We have actively told people to buy Cat’s Pride,” said Kim Kamins, Founder of Fearless Kitty Rescue. “Without the donations and our supporters, we wouldn’t be where we are. Our jaws dropped when we heard how much litter we are eligible to receive.”

Fearless Kitty Rescue was founded on the belief that every cat and kitten should have a chance at a happy, healthy, and FEARLESS life.

Making a Difference One Paw at a Time

PAWSibilities Animal Rescue Litter for Good Recipient

In 1998, a 12-year-old girl was on a mission to rescue every stray cat that wandered onto her mother’s property in Shippack, Pennsylvania. As time went on, her mother’s barn started overflowing with so many stray and lost cats that they could no longer appropriately house them all. Not about to give up on her mission to rescue these helpless cats, she founded PAWSibilities Animal Rescue, a non-profit, no-kill shelter dedicated to serving animals in need.

Today, PAWSibilities has grown to include two locations with six employees and 30 volunteers. PAWSibilities welcomes all domestic animals that have been abused, abandoned, neglected, or simply unloved. They foster all types of animals including cats, dogs, rabbits, horses, chickens, pigs and more.

Many resources and materials can be expensive and hard to come by, which is why the Cat’s Pride’s Litter for Good program has been essential to helping PAWSibilities with their litter supply. Donated litter from the program has helped PAWSibilities save funds in order to be able to take in more animals, provide more medical care and have a larger capacity to house their animals. PAWSibilities currently houses more than 200 cats and through the Litter for Good program, they have received over 13,000 pounds of litter.

PAWSibilities provides a loving and safe environment for all animals they take in from near and far to help find their forever homes. “A 17-year-old cat was recently adopted and it was such a happy day for everyone at the shelter. We know the cat is able to spend the last years of his life in a happy home,” said Kathy Mina, Senior Management at PAWSibilities.

With the help of the Cat’s Pride Litter for Good program and their gracious volunteers, PAWSibilities is able to save hundreds of animals each year. “Many volunteers have been with the rescue for over 10 years. One volunteer comes in every week and cleans the entire cat room,” said Mina.

You too can help animal welfare organizations like PAWSibilities save more cats each year by submitting a shelter nomination for Litter for Good here.

An Amazing Beginning at Calling All Cats

An Amazing Beginning. A Future We Can All Get Behind.

Seven years ago, certified animal control officer and vet technician Sara Cameron received a phone call about a big litter of kittens left at a trucking yard. They were sick, going blind, and in very serious need of medical care.

So what did Sara do? She took them all home and nursed them back to good health in her garage, including Bob, who was the only kitten still awake one night. It was quiet, it was peaceful, and Sara looked at Bob’s furry little kitten face, then to the other kittens sleeping soundly.

That’s when she realized she could make a difference.

They’re Saving Lives as You Read This

Calling All Cats started as a foster Facebook group, which became a major adoption and rescue network, and when it received non-profit status, Sara moved the operation to the cat sanctuary they’re in today.

And all these years later, Bob is still her furriest partner.

Now, many faces (furry and human alike) are part of the tirelessly dedicated crew at Calling All Cats, a rescue nominated to receive donated litter through the Cat’s Pride Litter for Good program. The group’s headquarters houses 100+ cats, and 500 cats are adopted from the shelter every year through carefully matched, loving folks of the Toms River, New Jersey area.

And the efforts of their incredibly committed staff extend beyond the shelter as well. They help to humanely lower the feral population through spays and neuters, as well as raise awareness within their community. From events to social media and beyond, their widespread work has made, and continues to make, an enormous impact.

Through our Cat’s Pride Litter for Good program, Calling All Cats just received over 24,000 pounds of donated cat litter. And all of the money they are saving as a result helps alleviate the stressors of running the sanctuary, including the cost of operations, giving more medications and vaccinations, and getting adoptable cats into more fur-ever homes.

Looking Ahead

The work Calling All Cats and all the other shelters across America do is truly inspiring, and the support you’ve shown them through the Litter for Good program is beyond words. But there are still thousands of shelters that need millions of pounds of litter.

If you haven’t yet, join the free Cat’s Pride Club, and if you don’t already, LOOK FOR THE GREEN JUG™ of Cat’s Pride Fresh & Light litter. Because together, we can continue making a huge difference.

Wonderful People Saving Wonderful Animals at WAGS of Monroe County

Some People Have a Calling. Others Are Called Upon.

This Mississippi shelter first started saving cats many years ago, but it was as recently as March of 2018 when Nannette of WAGS of Monroe County pulled her truck into the driveway of her home, only to be greeted by the sound of a distressed meow. She hopped out of her truck, searched for the source, and found a cat across the street who was thin and unwell, with a pink flea collar.

Who did this lost female kitty belong to?

Nannette brought her inside and began posting flyers and notices, asking the community if anyone was looking for their furry family member. But no one answered the call. Meanwhile, the cat didn’t have a tough time adjusting at all, acclimating to her new surroundings and even interacting famously with other cats.

Then Nannette met a family while volunteering at WAGS of Monroe, a family looking for a companion cat for a lonely senior kitty who had just lost his housemate, and was looking for a comparably sweet replacement.

Luckily, Nannette had taken in that perfect kitty not a month earlier, and by May of 2018, the young cat who Nannette found meowing for help was in a fur-ever home with a loving family. And the older cat she now shares a home with? The two have become inseparable playmates, and yes, it’s as cute as it sounds.

Wonderful Animals Get Saved (WAGS)

The name may sound exclusive, but it’s anything but – the four-person, volunteer-only team at WAGS of Monroe believes that every cat and dog is a wonderful animal that gets to be saved. From treating feral cats to finding a home for the most adoptable kittens, and everything in between, this passionate and dedicated group makes incredible impacts in its community every single day.

As a shelter registered to receive donated litter through the Cat’s Pride Litter for Good program, WAGS received enough nominations for over 10,000 pounds of donated litter already! This frees up its resources considerably, allowing it to focus on providing more medical care to cats in Monroe County, Mississippi, and the surrounding areas.

Helping the Wonderful Cats in Your Surrounding Areas

Millions of cats are taken in by shelters every year, and even more are helped by dedicated folks in our communities who actively seek and help out feral and stray cats. And while the best way to help is to adopt, foster, or volunteer, you can also get involved right this very moment.

Because when you join the free Cat’s Pride Club, you’re able to nominate a local shelter to receive donated litter. From hundreds of pounds to literal truckloads, nominated shelters across America have been given one less thing to worry about thanks to nominations from supporters like you.

And whenever you re-up on litter, be sure to LOOK FOR THE GREEN JUG of Cat’s Pride Fresh & Light. Every time you do, we donate a pound of litter to shelters like WAGS of Monroe, and every dollar shelters can save brings us closer to Changing Litter for Good.

A True Story of Your Impact at Ten Lives Club

A True Story of Your Impact

The moment you walk down the glass hallways of Ten Lives Club in Blasdell, NY, you know this shelter is something truly special.

A free-roaming facility specifically designed for the comfort of their 225+ rescue cats, you won’t know whether to join the kitties in their designated play room or just adopt them all. Their incredible staff includes over 200 volunteers and over a dozen employees, all working tirelessly to create an outlet for rescues from all over the country. Since opening their doors in 2001, the folks at Ten Lives Club have impacted the lives of over 30,000 cats.

Two Truckloads of Life-Saving Support

For every green jug of Cat’s Pride Fresh & Light sold, a pound of litter is donated to shelters nominated through the Litter for Good program. And as one of the top nominated shelters, Ten Lives Club has earned 46,000 pounds of cat litter so far!

“Being able to say that we don’t have to worry about litter for a year? It’s great,” said Marie, the Executive Director of Ten Lives Club, who went on to point out how the litter you’ve helped donate makes it possible for them to take in more cats. Because not having to worry about buying litter means being able to get more kitties to their 12 adoption sites to improve their likelihood of finding a forever home.

It means Ten Lives Club has more resources for vets, medicine, spays and neuters, employees and beyond, and it’s all thanks to the support of our Cat’s Pride Club members.
