Our Mission
We believe that people and pets bring out the best in each other. Therefore, our mission is to build a community of caring, by people helping pets and pets helping people. We were started by a group of community volunteers in 1966, making us the oldest no-kill shelter in Georgia. Each year, we find homes for over 700 dogs and cats. We distribute hundreds of pounds of pet food to our community and offer low-cost vaccine clinics, with the goal of keeping pets in homes and out of shelters. We are a small but passionate team. Once an animal is a PAWS Atlanta pet, they're a PAWS pet for life. The PAWS Atlanta community is full of dedicated volunteers, donors, and pet owners.
